Abdominal aortic aneurysm screenings

 Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers an abdominal aortic screening ultrasound if you’re at risk. You’re considered at risk if you have a family history of abdominal aortic aneurysms, or you’re a man 65-75 and have smoked at least 100 cigarettes in your lifetime.

Once in a lifetime.

You pay nothing for this screening if the health care provider accepts assignment .

Frequency of services

Your doctor or other health care provider may recommend you get services more often than Medicare covers. Or, they may recommend services that Medicare doesn’t cover. If this happens, you may have to pay some or all of the costs. Ask questions so you understand why your doctor is recommending certain services and if, or how much, Medicare will pay for them.
