Get Medicare information in other languages

You can get Medicare information in the language you or someone you’re helping prefer. Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) and ask for an interpreter, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except some federal holidays). TTY users can call 1-877-486-2048. 

You have the right to get materials from Medicare in languages other than English.  Here’s how to get some common materials from Medicare in the language that you prefer:

Web content & emails

Medicare.gov in Spanish:

In the top right corner of all pages on Medicare.gov there's a link to, “Cambiar a Espanol.”  Choose that link to get the entire site in Spanish.  

Emails from Medicare in Spanish: 

When you sign up for emails from Medicare for the first time, you can choose to get them in English or Spanish. If you’re already signed up for emails from Medicare in English and would prefer to get them in Spanish:

  1. Go to the Spanish version of Medicare.gov (directions above). 
  2. Scroll down on the homepage until you get to the email sign up. 
  3. Follow the steps to sign up for emails in Spanish.  

Note: You’ll need to unsubscribe from emails in English, after you sign up to get emails in Spanish. Otherwise, you’ll get emails in both languages.  

Print products & letters 

Medicare Summary Notices and Medicare & You Handbook:

You can get these materials in Spanish by setting your language preference in your account, or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE and asking them to set your language preference to Spanish. To set your language preference to Spanish in your Medicare account:

  1. Log into (or create) your Medicare account and select "My account settings."
  2. Under the "Email and document settings" section at the top of your account homepage, select "Edit" next to Medicare & You Handbook or Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs).
  3. Select which language you want to get either your Medicare & You Handbook or Medicare Summary Notices in, English or Spanish.

Informational print products:

Go to Medicare.gov/publications and use the “language” drop-down to select the language you’d like to get resources in. Then click “Search” and you’ll get a list of all products we offer in that language.
