Procedures

Procedure information shows how often this clinician performed the medical procedure(s) in the last 12 months for patients with Medicare. These are based on the number of times a clinician billed the medical procedure(s) to Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.

Note: This information may not reflect all procedure types, or the total number of procedures performed by this clinician. These aren't the only indicators of quality of care.

Percentiles compare a clinician to their peers who perform the same procedure based on the number of procedures performed in the last 12 months for patients with Medicare. Higher percentiles mean this clinician performed more procedures compared to other clinicians who also performed this procedure.

Medicare procedures performed in the last 12 months

This page includes procedures that this clinician performed for patients with Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage in the last 12 months. This clinician may also perform more types of procedures within Medicare and may perform procedures for patients with other types of health insurance, like commercial insurance plans not shown here.

A surgical procedure which removes damaged parts of the knee and replaces it with an artificial joint (prosthesis) made of metals, plastics, and polymers in patients with arthritis or a severe knee injury. Clinicians perform this procedure to relieve severe pain caused by osteoarthritis or when non-surgical options (i.e., pain medicine, exercise, injections, etc.) don't relieve pain due to other causes such as knee injury. Knee replacements help to reduce pain, increase strength, restore mobility, and improve quality of life in patients.
A surgical procedure that removes part or all the lamina (back of spinal bone) or vertebrae (small bones in the spine) and intervertebral discs (between the bones in the spine) by making cuts in the affected area and using small tools to remove anything additional that's putting pressure on the spinal nerves or spinal cord. Clinicians may also use a bone graft, metal plates, and screws to help the spine heal. These procedures are used to treat conditions such as spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal) and a herniated (damaged) disc, or to remove abnormal tissue, tumors, and bone spurs. Clinicians perform these procedures to relieve neck, back, and related leg pain.
A surgical procedure that permanently connects two or more vertebrae (small bones in the spine). Metal plates, screws, and rods may be used to hold the vertebrae together so they can heal into one unit. This procedure is performed to correct spinal deformities, improve stability due to severe arthritis of the spine, or after removal of a herniated (damaged) disc. Spinal fusions can help to reduce pain or pressure, improve stability, and correct deformities or fractures.
A surgical procedure that inserts a thin tube attached to a small camera (arthroscope) and other surgical tools through one or more small cuts in the shoulder, arm, forearm, wrist, or hand. Clinicians perform an arthroscopy to diagnose and treat causes of issues with joints like inflammation, injuries, and pieces of loose bone or cartilage. Arthroscopies avoid the need for large cuts and allow patients to recover faster and experience less pain and scarring.
