Procedures

Procedure information shows how often this clinician performed the medical procedure(s) in the last 12 months for patients with Medicare. These are based on the number of times a clinician billed the medical procedure(s) to Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.

Note: This information may not reflect all procedure types, or the total number of procedures performed by this clinician. These aren't the only indicators of quality of care.

Percentiles compare a clinician to their peers who perform the same procedure based on the number of procedures performed in the last 12 months for patients with Medicare. Higher percentiles mean this clinician performed more procedures compared to other clinicians who also performed this procedure.

Medicare procedures performed in the last 12 months

This page includes procedures that this clinician performed for patients with Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage in the last 12 months. This clinician may also perform more types of procedures within Medicare and may perform procedures for patients with other types of health insurance, like commercial insurance plans not shown here.

A minimally invasive procedure to open narrowed or blocked coronary (heart) arteries using a stent to widen the artery and improve blood flow. Stents are placed using a catheter (a long, thin tube), to reach a blocked vessel and the stent will restore blood flow. Clinicians may perform this procedure in the arteries of the heart to improve heart function and reduce symptoms like chest pain and shortness of breath.
A surgical procedure that places a small device in the chest to regulate the rhythm of the heart. A pacemaker may be inserted to stimulate a faster heart rate when the heart is beating too slowly, when the heart has alternating fast and slow heart beats, or when a blockage occurs. Clinicians perform this procedure to improve the heart rate and prevent patients from fainting or feeling dizzy, fatigue, or chest pain.
A surgical procedure to treat a blockage or narrowing in leg arteries by removing the blockage, opening the artery using a stent or small balloon, or using patients' veins or a vein graft to bypass the blocked portion. This procedure is used to treat occlusive peripheral arterial disease (PAD), which can cause legs to not have enough blood flow or oxygen. Clinicians perform this procedure to relieve patient symptoms, improve quality of life, and prevent the need for a leg amputation in critical cases.
